What is PHO?
The PROMIS® Health Organization is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation founded in 2008 by PROMIS principal investigators to develop and validate the PROMIS item banks and facilitate the transition from National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding to a self-sustaining future.
The PHO is an open membership society that welcomes members from around the world to bring the "patient's voice" to the forefront of care.
The PHO is led by a board of directors with membership opportunities open to anyone interested in PROMIS. The PHO board and members work to encourage the use of PROMIS by offering guidance and education on the scientific standards to promote widespread use and adoption of ROMIS.
